Mainland Island native wildlife sanctuary located in the Marlborough Sounds of New Zealand.
Wilderness hiking, Accommodation, Marine activities. Where humans and nature work in harmony.

Our wilderness park is located at Cape Jackson which is the north western tip of Queen Charlotte Sound (Marlborough Sounds) in the South Island of New Zealand. Basically we are the northern half of the Cape Jackson peninsula beyond Little Waikawa which is near Ship Cove.

There are no roads to here thank goodness. It is possible to walk here from Ship Cove using the Outer Queen Charlotte Track. The launch servicing the track leaves Picton for Ship Cove at 9am every Tuesday and Friday. It also comes all the way here on the same trip so visitors can come here directly if they wish.

We do have a sheltered marina that can berth moderate size vessels. This needs to be arranged before coming as do all visits because we fiercely protect the privacy and welfare of our guests, ourselves and all the creatures of nature who live here.
